Stan culture: a frantic, borderline manic celebration of the internet’s favorite artists. There is perhaps no one more celebrated in this invisible awards party than Harry Styles. The boy-band-singer-turned-solo-artist-turned-icon has few haters. As Twitter would agree, it’s Harry Styles’ world and we’re just living in it. Although his debut album was an incredibly strong release, its sophomore sister feels more heartfelt—listening to it feels like sitting in some sort of pop daydream. Fine Line is one of three pop albums that I enjoy listening to from start to finish. The feeling I get when listening to it translates into very vibrant visuals: pink, gold, blues, gloss, and fun! Most of my inspiration for shoots comes from music; I tend to visualize things as soon as I’m listening to something that grabs me. It’s safe to say that Fine Line grabbed me by my shirt and threw me against the wall. Styles poured himself into the album, and the result is something I wanted to pay homage to. These images are what it feels like to me, minus some Gucci rings. A big thank you to Alycia D’Alfonsi for completing this vision with her beautiful design pieces! You can find her work here. This collaboration in itself was an honest example of stan culture’s sweet side—we’re just two fans that wanted to make something about an artist we love.
